Helen Cartwright is founder and Managing Director of The Real Thing. Helen brings with her a lifetime of experience in the industry and has successfully recruited across all sectors of the IT market place; from contracting to executive search, graduates to CEOs, highly technical to strategically orientated positions Helen has worked with all manner of assignment. Helen has a vast portfolio of knowledge and experience to draw from. Originally from the UK, Helen also has extensive experience in international and offshore solutions.

Helen's objective was to build the client base across the New Zealand market by delivering only the highest standard of service, ensuring ethical business practices and adding the human touch to the process. Understanding the unique needs of organisations, hiring managers, contractors and candidates is, what Helen believes, the key to building robust business relationships.

Taking a 'hands on' role, Helen is now growing both the team and market share in New Zealand whilst doing what she loves most - building extra value into relationships with clients, candidates and contractors alike.

Edwina has a fantastic intuitive sense, combined with excellent technical knowledge, which has proven to be a winning combination in matching the right people to the right organisations.

Coming from a strong background, Edwina began her IT career in the UK and for the past 8 years has continued to challenge herself with the ever changing world IT knowledge and clients requirements.

Edwina has a committed passion for people and believes that relationships are of primary importance combined with honesty in building a successful business unit. She thrives on helping candidates and clients to get the best solution.

In a fast moving and competitive market such as IT, it is imperative to have a clear understanding of the client's needs and the prospective candidate's skills and experience. Kristin joined Real with 7 years experience in the IT sector and is a true star in our crown.

It is Kristin’s goal to help turn the perception of the IT industry around and take it from a conversation killer to a respected profession. Kristin knows this takes a team effort to achieve, not only within the agencies themselves, but also with the wider community.

Kristin believes it requires trust, respect, open-mindedness, honesty, accountability, really listening to and communicating with people through open channels, managing expectations throughout the process and making decisions. Rachel is yet another Star Consultant who has joined the Real team. She brings a solid background in Human Resources/Administration and Customer Service Management with her.

Prior to joining the The Real Thing industry Sonya Julian had a fantastic track record in Consultancy, Sales, Marketing and Administration.

She brings with her a background where truly understanding clients needs, providing exceptional customer service and going the extra mile were paramount, so she fits in well with Real's vision and principles!

Sonya sees her role at The Real Thing as being "professional matchmaker" for both clients and candidates and likes to add a sense of fun and energy to the team.

Outside of the office Sonya's passion is Horse Racing... And she dreams of one day owning the winner of the Melbourne Cup!

Shiree Wilton is the Team Administrator here at The Real Thing. Shiree joined us from a background in accounts and customer service, where she realised that helping people was something she really enjoyed.

Shiree knows and appreciates what a difference a well coordinated and efficiently working team makes, and she is keen to deliver personal, qualitative and quick service to all our clients and candidates.

Shiree provides all additional office support and administration services needed, and committed to her work and likes to add to a pleasant environment for the Real team and all our guests.

Billy and Lucy can usually be relied on to form the welcome committee for all visitors to the office. They may bark, but they never bite! Outside of the office they enjoy walks on the beach, eating bones, chasing cats and generally causing mischief
