How To Behave During A First Interview
|
 |
- Be positive and upbeat.
- Dress and groom in a way that you expect
the company sales director would like to see you visiting
their most important client (If you are not sure how to
dress, then you need to know more about the organisation
you are meeting with - ask your consultant)
- Never complain about your current company.
- The question why you want to leave your
current employer deserves an honest answer without being
negative about your colleagues, management, clients, or
work environment.
- Give them the reasons why you want to work
for their company.
- Watch body language.
- Listen carefully to the questions and if
necessary think before you answer (many candidates are turned
down for positions because during the interview they answer
questions that have not been asked).
- Ask if there is going to be a second interview
and if there are any reasons why they should not hire you,
take the opportunity to produce rebuttals against those
reasons (if you want the job then you have nothing to lose).
- Sell yourself well, even if you do
not like the job it is always better to say "no thank
you" than being turned down because you gave the impression
of not being interested.
